Spirit Airlines has published its first Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI&B) Impact Report, highlighting the carrier’s efforts, opportunities and accomplishments of 2022.
It celebrates the DEI&B initiatives that have led to six pioneering Spirit Resource Groups, and an activation plan to create pathways for purposeful change.
“Our vision is to create a workplace where all Team Members are accepted, respected and empowered to make a lasting impact,” said Linde Grindle, Chief Human Resources Officer at Spirit Airlines.
“From diversity in our talent acquisition and business partner selections to building resource groups that give our Spirit Family a chance to come together to share ideas, DEI&B efforts are at the heart of everything we do.”
The 2022 DEI&B report showcases Spirit’s progress toward an even more inclusive future and highlights key 2022 progress points that include:
- Diversifying ethnicity and increasing gender representation among the Spirit Family, which exceeded the 2022 air transportation industry averages reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor
Expanding uniform and image standards policy to all Flight Attendants and Guest Service Agents, allowing these Team Members to dress in ways they feel best represent their identities
Donating to 49 DEI&B –focused nonprofits that serve underrepresented communities through the Spirit Charitable Foundation
