Babcock International Group and Palantir Technologies UK have signed an enterprise agreement (EA) at DSEI 2023 aimed at strengthening Babcock’s digital defence capabilities.

The EA will provide Babcock with a data platform aimed at transforming, capturing, integrating, modelling and building data-driven solutions to make better informed data-driven decisions and drive further value.

Speaking at the official signing on Wednesday 13 September, Babcock CEO for land Tom Newman (pictured left), said, “This partnership is the absolute cornerstone of our future capabilities. As the defence landscape becomes increasingly digital in nature, our data challenges are also growing in complexity and volume. It will enable us to generate data insights and deliver services for our customers in a more timely manner, providing deep insights into our customers’ worlds.”

The agreement with Palantir will consolidate data streams into one place with toolsets and analytics. Areas the partnership will focus on include equipment support and maintenance, training contracts and shipbuilding. The company already has 80 projects in the pipeline to benefit from Palantir’s solution.

Guy Williams, head of UK defence & national security from Palantir Technologies UK Ltd. (pictured right), said, “We are excited about empowering Babcock’s people to utilise data and AI. Adapting to new technology can be a daunting task but we have a shared ambition and I’m excited to be an exemplar for the defence industry on driving collaboration and maximising operational output, whilst empowering Babcock’s talented workforce to become truly digitally enabled.”
