More than 150 of the world’s leading space innovators exhibited at the Space-Comm Expo on 7-8 September 2022.

Coming just weeks after the Farnborough International Airshow, Space-Comm Expo aimed to accelerate the conversation on the future of the commercial space sector in the UK and around the globe.

A star-studded speaker programme included experts from BAE Systems, Airbus, CGI, Cornwall Space Cluster, Raytheon UK, Rolls-Royce, Space Florida, PWC and Czech Republic Aerospace.

Held at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, the event brought together the entire sector for two days of face to face business and networking.

Exponential growth

Rob Sherwood, managing director of Hub Exhibitions, commented: “The commercial space industry is growing at an exponential rate. To put that into perspective, satellite consultancy Euroconsult recently shared that there will be 17,000 satellites launched over the next 10 years, a fourfold increase over the previous 10 years.”

Kevin Craven, CEO of ADS Group, added: “In 2021, our flourishing Space sector employed 47,000 people and generated turnover worth £16.6 billion and 2022 has continued to be a landmark year for space.

“With the inaugural UK launch expected later this year, there are many more upcoming milestones and world-firsts, underpinned by important government strategies that if implemented well will further secure and strengthen the UK’s position as a global space leader.”

Space-Comm Expo 2023 will be held on 6 and 7 September.
