Global innovation and transformation consultancy PA Consulting has said that the UK could become a “world leader” in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) on the opening day of FIA Connect.

The consultancy was presenting key findings from a white paper on sustainable aviation fuels during the virtual event. PA Consulting has partnered with ADS Group on the white paper which will be published in full at the start of August.

Report will explore how to kick start carbon reduction

The report will offer a deep dive into what’s blocking the progress of the SAF industry and what leaders across the value chain need to kick start the action needed to carbon reductions in aviation and achieve the UK’s commitments to the Paris climate agreement.

Presenting the executive summary of the report at FIA Connect, Kim McCann, aviation sustainability expert at PA Consulting, said: “The UK is already leading the world when it comes to enshrining sustainability targets in law and decarbonising industry. We were the first G7 nation to set the Paris climate agreement into law and the first country where that law has been directly used to challenge the aviation industries right to grow.

“Sustainable aviation fuels are the only drop in technologies that can significantly reduce aviation’s emissions now and are ready to scale. There is an appetite for this change across the UK aviation and aerospace Industry.”

The full report will be published in early August 2020, to download the executive summary, visit the PA Consulting website.
