A brand-new sustainable aviation event, Sustainable Skies World Summit, is launching in January 2022 which will accelerate the progress to Net Zero aviation.

The event has been created and hosted by Farnborough International in partnership with Sustainable Aviation. The first Sustainable Skies World Summit will take place on January 25-26 2022 at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre.

As the first large-scale event of its kind in the UK, the summit will support the Sustainable Aviation coalition’s agenda, which sets out to collectively achieve a cleaner, quieter, and smarter future for the industry.

Following closely on from the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) and the World Economic Forum’s Davos Agenda, the Sustainable Skies World Summit will cement the UK’s position as a leader within the global aviation industry, spearheading innovations, conversations and building connections.

Challenging the perspectives of the aviation industry

The programme has been designed to challenge the perspective of the aviation industry; bringing to light difficult conversations for sector leaders, discussing opportunities to accelerate the transition to net zero aviation and reviewing and tackling the outcomes from COP26.

Gareth Rogers, CEO of Farnborough International, said: “I am thrilled we have partnered with the trailblazing team at Sustainable Aviation to develop and host the largest sustainable aviation event in the UK. Sustainable Aviation shares our vision to host the world’s best global sustainability aerospace event; tackling the important topics, stimulating collaboration between leading innovators, and pioneering the next steps to a cleaner, more efficient trade.”

Adam Morton, Chair of Sustainable Aviation, added: “This new, ground-breaking summit at Farnborough International embodies the same spirit of industry collaboration and innovation that is at the heart of Sustainable Aviation. The decarbonisation of aviation is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and we look forward to coming together in January to address the critical topics and big questions around net zero aviation, as well as help drive forward progress on delivering both local and global solutions over this next critical decade.”
