Southwest flight makes emergency landing
Southwest Airlines flight #1380 from New York’s La Guardia airport to Dallas made an emergency landing in Philadelphia today. Pictures and reports posted online show significant engine damage and a window blown out.
Southwest Airlines said there were 143 passengers and five crew members on board the Boeing 737-700.
At least one passenger was taken to hospital, reports say.
“We are in the process of gathering more information. Safety is always our top priority at Southwest Airlines, and we are working diligently to support our customers and crews at this time,” a statement from the airline said.
