A Saudia A330 aircraft was exposed to gunfire damage at Khartoum International Airport in Sudan on Saturday April 15.

The incident happened while preparing for its scheduled departure flight SV458 to Riyadh with guests and crew on.

Guests safe

Saudia said in a statement: “It has been confirmed that all members of the aircraft’s cabin crew and guests have safely arrived at the Saudi Embassy in Sudan. Meanwhile aircraft flying over Sudan have returned and all other flights to and from Sudan have been suspended in order to preserve the safety of the guests and crew.”

Saudia’s Emergency Coordination Centre is working alongside the Saudia cabin crew and staff at the airport, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Republic of Sudan to obtain more information about the incident.
