Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited (MAEL) has signed a new base maintenance agreement with Icelandair.

MAEL will carry out C-checks for Icelandair’s Boeing 757 cargo aircraft. The maintenance work will be carried out at Monarch Aircraft Engineering’s Luton Airport hangar and is due to commence at the end of October 2017.

Andy Lowi, Business Development Manager at Monarch Aircraft Engineering, said: “Following on from the successful line maintenance work we have completed in the past for Icelandair, we are happy to now be carrying out the base maintenance work. We look forward to welcoming the airline’s Boeing 757 cargo aircraft into our Luton hangar later this month.”

Asgeir Larusson Director of Continuing Airworthiness Management at Icelandair commented: “We have always been impressed with Monarch Aircraft Engineering’s services so I am delighted to have signed this base maintenance agreement for our B757 C checks. We look forward to working with MAEL this autumn.”

Monarch Aircraft Engineering strikes out

News of the demise of Monarch Airlines hit the industry (and passengers) hard recently. The future looks bright, they say and today’s news is further confirmation of that.
