Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation is establishing a new programme management division for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) programme, it has announced.

The aim of the new unit, which will be operational from 1 January, is to reinforce the development and management of the MRJ program, the company says. Within the division there will be an integrated product team execution department, a governance management office and a product strategy office.

Engineering changes

The Engineering Division at Mitsubishi Aircraft is also being restructured from four departments (aircraft integration; mechanical system design; electrical system design; and airframe design) and one office (MRJ 70 project) into five departments (aircraft integration; mechanical system design; electrical system design; airframe design; avionics, fly by wire; and software design) and three offices (interiors; test rigs integration; and electrical wiring interconnect systems design). The aim is to achieve more efficient communications and quicker decison-making.
