Sustainable aviation fuel producer SkyNRG has launched a book-and-claim SAF system entitled Project Runway, aiming to “bring together airlines and corporate to provide easy access to SAF”.

Under the initiative, airlines will not only gain access to sustainable fuel, but can share the SAF price premium “with ambitious corporates aiming to reduce their own Scope 3 aviation emissions”. Project member Microsoft will be the initial Scope 3 SAF claims buyer, with SkyNRG elaborating that the scheme will help airlines “overcome complexities of early SAF procurement and take action with confidence”.

“Project Runway will enable a global SAF market transformation that we see as essential that we see as essential to decarbonising air travel,” explained Julila Fidler, environmental sustainability – fuel and materials decarbonisation lead. “Microsoft is proud to add this important SAF initiative to its portfolio of support, and thanks to their proven sustainability leadership, creativity and credibility, SkyNRG is the ideal host”.
