Israel plans to ban four-engined aircraft starting from 31 March 2023 as part of efforts to tackle air and noise pollution.

Israel’s airports authority said on Sunday those larger aircraft would be restricted from landing at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, Reuters reported.

Cargo impact

The ruling will most impact cargo operators who rely on Boeing 747 aircraft.

There are no scheduled commercial flights to the airport with Boeing 747, Airbus A340 or Airbus A380.

However the Boeing 747 is flown by some air freight operators into Ben Gurion.
