We recently spoke to Pete Jones, Avionics Design & Production Lead, HeliMods to find out more about its Powered Aero Loader (PAL) powered stretcher loading system.

The PAL powered stretcher loading systems allows an emergency medical services crew member of any stature to load a patient into a helicopter at the push of a button in under 30 seconds.

HeliMods calls PAL “a quantum leap in patient management and emergency medical services/ambulance fleet interoperability.”

Although HeliMods is an Australian company, Jones said: “It’s a pretty broad market. This stretcher from Striker [shown in the video] is one of the most popular stretchers around the world, so pretty much any ambulance service, any HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) that’s looking towards power lifting stretcher technology – this is for them.

“Any Helicopter Emergency Medical Service that’s looking towards power lifting stretcher technology – this is for them.”

HeliMods also does other helicopter modifications, including for military applications, search and rescue, medical crews, air ambulance and more.
