With optimistic stats suggesting that women made up just 24 per cent of the aerospace and defence workforce, FINN asked aviation companies how they could achieve a more diverse workforce at a Women in Aviation and Aerospace Charter Seminar hosted by regional carrier Flybe last year.

Tapping the best talent from all walks of society

Suggestions include addressing misconceptions, raising awareness in schools and giving better insights into what aerospace environments are really like. Our interviewees stressed that achieving a diverse workforce wasn’t just about gender but also tapping the best talent across all walks of society.
