The global gathering of industry leaders at the Farnborough International Airshow 2022 signified the revival of the aerospace sector, and businesses are already looking ahead to the next event in two years’ time, said Joe Muir, aerospace sales director at Farnborough International.

“It’s been extremely busy. And we’re just tremendously proud of what we’ve achieved,” he said at the end of the week-long show last month.

“In terms of the technology that we’ve seen, it’s come a long way since we were last here [in 2018].

“Sustainability and sustainable innovation, we’ve seen that across the entire show … We’ve seen a lot of eVTOL technology. What’s really interesting is how they’re demonstrating that, so combining the digital with the physical product.”

Aerospace Global Forum

One of the highlights of the show was the Aerospace Global Forum, which provided a unique global platform to drive immediate action and accelerate the transition to net zero, he said.

Muir added: “People are very much looking forward to reconnecting again. I think this was a real milestone … because now we’re looking forward to the next time we meet … in 2024.”
