Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC) is growing its membership as the industry recovers from the pandemic.

Four new companies have signed up in recent weeks to benefit from membership of the business-winning trade association in the run up to the Farnborough International Airshow 2022 (FIA 2022). Within Hampshire, Basingstoke-based Cupio Services features a sophisticated failure-analysis laboratory among its services while Insensys, based in Fareham, is a world leader in fibre-optic sensing technologies.

Carousel Consultancy Ltd has also joined FAC. The company is an international talent specialist with extensive knowledge and experience in maximising the potential of businesses. The final member of the quartet is Smart Quality Services, which works out of Bournemouth and Bristol and provides ISO consultancy and compliance management services as well as specialist manufacturing consultancy and software.

“Collaborative approach benefits us all”

Alan Fisher, CEO of the consortium, said: “We represent businesses in the aerospace, aviation and defence sectors and across all their supply chains. Our new members show what diverse businesses we have on board and there is a collaborative approach that benefits us all. Clearly the Covid pandemic hit the industry hard, but now is the time to increase the speed of recovery. The world is opening up and we have to take advantage to ensure this country remains a leader in the field.”

He added: “There is a new focus on carbon-free flight and our conference before Christmas heard about this from a number of prominent people in the field. To ensure the industry and our members stay ahead we must look to the future and what will be demanded.”

Farnborough International Airshow – indicator of industry’s strength

Fisher said the growth of the membership in the run up to FIA 2022 showed that businesses understood growing membership demonstrates that businesses understand this and want to benefit from what we offer. This summer brings the Farnborough International Airshow and we’ll be at the trade show along with 20 members represented on our stand.”

“The event really is an indicator of the strength of the industry and deals done there will define the sector’s short term future in the UK.”
