Customers in the UK travelling on flights to the US will now have access to the discounted Covid test kits through a UK government approved supplier.
American Airlines is collaborating with healthcare provided Qured to provide customers eligible to travel from the UK to the US with a rapid test kit at a discounted rate. Qured is a UK Government-approved provider of global antigen tests.
Julie Rath, American’s Vice President of Customer Experience and Reservations said: “Our partnership with Qured will help to provide peace of mind as our customers travelling from the UK prepare for the air. For customers eligible to travel, and those planning future trips, we want to offer affordable and accurate COVID testing solutions, to ensure safe travel for all.”
Portable kit can be sent to UK addresses

The portable test kit can be ordered to any UK address and is designed for travel departing from and returning to the UK from the US. The portable kit removes the uncertainty and additional expense incurred when sourcing a predeparture test while away from home.
The test is remotely administered by a professional health advisor over a scheduled video call. The health advisor will guide the customer through taking a nose and throat swab and processing the sample. Results are ready within 20 minutes of swabbing and electronic verified results will be shared with the patient one hour after their remote consultation. The customer can download a ‘fit to fly’ certificate if the test is negative.
American’s Atlantic business and oneworld partner British Airways has recently introduced the test kits for their travellers.
American is currently operating flights from London Heathrow (LHR) to hubs across the US including Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas/ Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami , New York, Philadelphia and to its partner hub in Seattle.
