Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) is the latest event to transition to a virtual format, with the AIX Virtual now taking place between September 14-16.

Announcing the move online, a statement issued on behalf of AIX read: “We know how much people want to get back to meeting face-to-face. But, the situation around the world remains unpredictable due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing challenges and global restrictions on international travel. We have therefore made the difficult decision to postpone our physical event to 2022.”

Next physical event will take place in June 2022

AIX and WTCE will provide an online platform for the cabin interiors and onboard services community by providing a place to reconnect and share ideas to accelerate the industry’s recovery. The event will create new ways for airlines and the supply chain to find solutions, discover the latest innovations and make important business connections. Further details of the virtual event will be announced shortly.

The statement added: “We remain extremely grateful to all our stakeholders, partners, exhibitors and visitors for their understanding and patience, and we look forward to seeing you all face to face again from June 14–16 2022 at the Hamburg Messe.”

* The events industry, along with aviation, has been one of the hardest hit sectors by the Covid pandemic with border closures and social distancing measures halting large gatherings. FINN explored how the pandemic had affected events within the aviation sector – and how the industry had adapted to create new, virtual brands, transitioning conversations which would have been happening face to face to new platforms.
